What if.......

Hello again,

There's no formula for originality or creativity but seeing unexpected ideas can educate and inspire.  WHAT IF you found an idea that stoked your imagination and could recreate it yourself?

MISS FANCY PAINTS carries a complete line of AMY HOWARD AT HOME products (showing soon on website). Check out the  following super cool makeovers and keep in mind,  you could do any one of these projects.  For those of you who are too timid to go it alone,  Mary Lou would love to share her knowledge and provide guidance. DIY  Monogramed Tote

This little cutie started out as an inexpensive straw tote.  Painting the bag,  then adding the classic monogram detail with Amy Howard chalk paint,  turned it into a one of a kind custom accessory.  Chalk paint can be used on any surface,  even a straw bag.  How much fun is that?

Lacquered antique mason jar

The Amy Howard at Home line of professional artisan products takes no short cuts on quality.  Her high permanence furniture lacquer is unlike any other acrylic spray paint you can find on the store shelves. This is the same professional grade formula used by luxury furniture lines and can be applied on practically any surface.  As you will soon find,  the possibilities for this amazing product are endless.  I'm mad about the juxtaposition of  the white lacquer jar with the antique lid.

DIY Guilded tray

Okay, I admit I am a nut for silver trays and I love gold leaf.  Many times I find trays on my treasure hunts and usually bring them home.  Frequently, the surface is not in good shape and no amount of cleaniing will help.  I'm not bothered by tarnish and infact think it adds to the character,  however sometimes I would prefer it had a nicer appearance.  This tray was given a new life with paint and gold leaf.  Where could yo envision this in your home?

vintage tub

Outdoor entertaining in the summer is so much fun.  I am always on the look out for great pieces that  function well but they have to meet my standard of aesthetic appeal.   This galvanized tub was spruced up with some paint and even has gold leaf on the handles.  Just imagine the comments when your guests compliment you on this piece and you tell them you painted it yourself.  Oh my!

custom leather boots

So,  when I said you can paint almost any surface with many of the Amy Howard at Home products,  I bet you didn't even think of leather shoes.  Oh my gosh,  these little girl's boots are so adorable.  I'm off to look in my closet for my next project.

Now, go make your own magic,

Joanie
